Three things, and we do all three on the same job.

Most studios will build you the thing and hand it back. The running of it, the bit that decides whether the thing is any use to you in two years, becomes your problem. We do not work that way.

What we do

Three things, and we do all three on the same job.

Software Development

Systems that carry a business.

Web apps, marketplaces and enterprise platforms. The systems we run take payments, sync inventory, hold multi-tenant data and stay up while people are in the middle of using them. Java and Spring Boot at the back, React and Next.js at the front, Kubernetes underneath.

  • Web apps and SaaS platforms
  • Marketplaces and e-commerce
  • Enterprise and internal tooling
  • Mobile apps, iOS and Android
  • APIs and system integration

Creative Design

The look, and the reason for it.

Brand, identity and interface. We design the thing people actually touch and then we build it ourselves, so nothing gets lost on the way from the mockup to the browser.

  • Brand and identity
  • Interface and experience design
  • Websites and landing pages
  • Design systems
  • Marketing and content

Digital Solutions

Everything after launch.

Hosting, migration, monitoring, updates, and the daily work of keeping a business online. This is the part most agencies hand back to you at the end. We keep it.

  • Managed hosting
  • Site and email migration
  • SEO and AI search
  • Security, SSL and backups
  • Support and maintenance

How it goes

Build, move, run.

01

Build

We scope it, design it and build it. You get a working system at the end, not a slide deck.

02

Migrate

Domains, DNS, SSL, email and the data. We move it all across and test it before anyone notices it moved.

03

Run

Hosting, updates, backups, monitoring and support. It stays our problem, not yours.

Questions

What does Codia Tech actually do?

Three things, usually on the same job. We build software, from a marketing website through to a multi-tenant SaaS platform. We do the design and brand work that goes with it. And we host and run the result once it is live, which includes updates, backups, monitoring, security and support.

Do you only work with New Zealand clients?

We are based in Foxton Beach and most of our clients are in New Zealand, but the platforms we run serve customers in Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan and elsewhere. Location has not been a problem.

Can you take over a site that someone else built?

Yes, and we do it often. We migrate the site, the domain, the DNS, the SSL and the email across to our hosting, test the lot, and then take on the ongoing management. You do not need to be on speaking terms with your last developer for this to work.

Do you host as well as build?

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. Some of the sites we host we also built, and we have kept them online for close to ten years. It is the reason we take on fewer clients than an agency would. When something breaks at nine on a Sunday night, the person who picks it up is the person who wrote it.

How big a project can two people take on?

The largest platform we have built runs fourteen services, four hundred data models and multi-tenant payments through Stripe Connect, and our principal is still its lead engineer. We have also built real-time multiplayer games and case management systems for a regulator. Size is not usually the constraint. Our availability is.

What does it cost?

It depends entirely on the job, so we do not publish a price list. Tell us what you are trying to build and we will come back with a fixed quote, along with an honest view on whether we are the right people for it.

Tell us what you are trying to build.

We take a small number of clients at a time, which means we can be honest with you about whether we are the right fit. Send us the problem and we will come back with what it would take to solve it.
